ELIGIBILITY: This exhibition is a juried exhibition, open to all artists. It is not necessary to be a member of the Tubac Center of the Arts. Metal sculpture may be forged, found, welded,stamped, pressed metal composite surface materials etc Printmaking of all methods, wood block, linoleum block, monotint, augmented color aquatint etc. on all substrates, e.g. paper, leather, cloth are welcome, excluding giclee digital images.
JURY PROCEDURE, FEES: Jurying will be done on the basis of digital images on a CD. Up to two (2) works may be entered for consideration. Only one (1) work per artist will be selected. Non-refundable fee is $25($20 for members) for up to two (2) entries, and $35 ($30 for members)for 3-4 entries. Images of accepted works become the property of TCA as a permanent record of the exhibition and for promotional use relating to the exhibition.
SUBMISSION: Complete the online form, upload the images and send the fee OR manually complete the paper entry form, fee, CD(s) and, a self-addressed, stamped envelope and if you want your CS(s) returned, enclose an appropriate sized, self-addressed, stamped mailer to TCA, The Forge and the Press, PO Box 1911, Tubac, AZ, 85648. Postmark deadline Sept 10, 2008.
PRESENTATION: All accepted artwork must be ready to hang, suitably matted and framed, and firmly wired. Do not use fast frames, sandwich frames or sawtooth hangers. Plexiglas glazing is preferred. Delivered works must be exactly as presented on the CDs with no alteration. TCA reserves the right to disqualify any selected entry upon arrival that does not meet the above requirements or is deemed unsuitable for display.
ART REQUIREMENTS: Must be original, executed in the past year and not previously shown in Tubac. There is no size restriction.
SALES: All work must be for sale. TCA will retain a 40% commission from all sales. No accepted entry may be withdrawn prior to the close of the exhibition. No pricing changes will be allowed from that indicated on the entry form.
ARTIST BIO: Accepted entries must be accompanied by an artist bio, preferably in a Word document.
LIABILITY: All works will be fully insured while the artwork is in the custody of TCA. This excludes responsibility for damage incurred during shipping.
DELIVERY AND RETURN OF ACCEPTED WORK: Work may be hand-delivered or shipped. Shipped entries must be prepaid and packed in sturdy, reusable cartons with reusable packing materials (do not use Styrofoam peanuts), and a prepaid, bar coded return shipping label must accompany the artwork. Obtaining an account with the shipper of you choice facilitates the return procedure. Particular care must be taken with glass glazing, as it may break during shipping, damaging the artwork.
